At Hog Roast Fulwood, we’re lucky enough to witness some of life’s most precious moments. And honestly? It never gets old. Being asked to cater for these milestones isn’t something we ever take for granted. We’re big believers that food brings people together, and we love being the team behind those delicious, joy-filled memories.
So, when Claire and Sean reached out to us with an especially heartwarming request, we knew this would be a day to remember.
The couple had just received the life-changing news that their application to adopt their foster daughter, Alice, had been approved. After months of waiting, hoping, and dreaming, their little family was officially complete. Naturally, they wanted to celebrate in the best way possible – with a party, good food, and all the people who had supported them on their journey.
With 60 guests of all ages and appetites attending, the couple wisely selected our BBQ Menu – a relaxed, crowd-pleasing feast that’s as fun as it is flavour-packed. And we pulled out all the smoky, sizzling stops!
On Saturday, Hog Roast Fulwood fired up the grill and got to work on a mouthwatering spread: handmade British beef burgers, sizzling sausages, sticky spareribs, juicy chicken kebabs – and for the veggie lovers – plant-based burgers and halloumi and grilled vegetable skewers that disappeared as fast as we could serve them!
And because we don’t do things halfway, we added fried onions, melty cheese, and a spread of tasty sides that covered everything from creamy homemade coleslaw to flavourful pasta salad and roasted baby new potatoes.
The buffet-style setup meant guests could mix, mingle, and load up their plates at their own pace, which was exactly the laidback, family-friendly vibe Claire and Sean had imagined.
And little Alice? She absolutely stole the show. Beaming with joy, darting between guests, and soaking up every second of the spotlight; it was clear she knew this party was all about her. We may provide the food, but moments like that? They’re the real magic.
