Aren’t fireworks just so pretty? Hog Roast Plungington loves this time of year, the bonfires, the fireworks, the fairgrounds and of course serving up heart-warming delicious food to the onlookers.
Hog Roast Plungington’s local sports club hosted a fantastic bonfire evening to kick off half-term and raise money for the club. The club involves football, netball and cricket teams so the money raised was going to the club to improve facilities such as better flood lights and netball court surfaces. It caters for both adult and children sports.
The club had gone all out with fairground rides such as a carousel, fairground game stalls such as hook the duck and coconut shy as well as some brilliant fireworks! There was an area where kids could have sparklers, face painting and children could make firework photos with glitter.
The sports clubhouse has their own bar however, they do not serve hot drinks, they are planning to include a coffee machine in the next step of renovation. As a result, as part of Hog Roast Plungington’s services, they covered hot drinks including hot chocolate.
Darren one of the many people running the sports club had called Hog Roast Plungington to supply a Hog Roast and few extras. Darren believed that not many people would opt for salad on a cold October’s evening so decided on chips and sausages so that the kids could enjoy hot dogs. The vegetarians received a Halloumi Kebab and the vegans received cheesy chips (with vegan cheese of course!).
Despite the sausages being for the kids, many of the children chose to have a delicious pulled pork roll instead.
Darren wasn’t too sure on the numbers that would attend, especially with it being the first weekend of half term as he didn’t know how many people would be away and therefore have to miss it. Hog Roast Plungington and Darren therefore agreed that 250 people would be catered for. Darren was pretty much dead on with the number of attendees.
A warm Hog Roast roll was welcomed by all with a side of chips and some with a cheeky sausage on the side.
