Summer is upon us. Restriction’s easing is finally the light at the end of the tunnel we need. Gatherings and celebrations can begin. Let us walk you through what to expect on the day of your event with Hog Roast Penwortham to refresh your mind of what you have to look forward to!

hog roast PenworthamYou have chosen Hog roast Penwortham’s whole-roasted spit pig menu. The team will arrive with you between 6-8 hours before your selected serve time to ensure plenty of time to cook your pig fresh on site. The pig will have been mounted onto a stainless-steel poll and dropped into the machine. The machine will then cook the pig between 4-6 hours depending on its weight and size. As the poll turns the pig, it cooks the meat equally and produces extremely crisp crackling (with the help of being rubbed with salt and water!). The pig’s juices are collected at the bottom of machine and used to make the sage and onion stuffing and the rest is used as a stock to put back into the pig for a juicy finish. The spitted pig is the perfect theatre for your event, sending waves of pure perfection to your guest’s nostrils and making their bellies rumble with hunger and anticipation for their treat!

The delicious meat and stuffing are served in a roll. Hog Roast Penwortham provides a selection of rolls such as cheesy, wholemeal, soft white and seeded. Something added to the menu a few years ago is wraps. The wraps go down well with guests. To complete the roll, a drizzle of sauce is added. Which sauce will you choose? Traditional apple, BBQ, sweet chilli, or ketchup?
