Hog Roast Alston are always delighted to cater for whatever event, making sure that all their customers are more than satisfied. Within the high standard and fast paced company, the catering team at Hog Roast Alston work hard to provide only the best food and service. During the Winter, we were contacted by Alice as a last-minute booking to cater for her daughters christening, there would be around 30-40 people to cater for and thanks to the flexibility of the company we were able to do this job on short notice.

Just a couple of weeks later, our team arrived at Alice’s cottage, located in a small village near Alston. We began setting up in her garden where we had a gorgeous view of the plants and the beaming winter sun. What a perfect day for a christening.

Alice had requested a medium Hog, along with our famous crispy crackling. We always begin preparing our meat earlier in the day as our professional machines slowly cook the meat until its juicy and tender. We also set up a table with trays of soft, fluffy bread rolls, a selection of sauces to compliment the meat and finally, 3 portions of our well known, warm butter potatoes.

The guests arrived around 2pm from the church ceremony, all dressed in colourful gowns and bringing the cheer into the garden. Soon enough we had a queue of excited and hungry guests, ready to gobble up our delicious roast. Even Alice’s little daughter tried some of our potatoes and beamed with delight.

After the buffet was devoured, we ensured all work surfaces were tidied away leaving Alice and her guests to enjoy the rest of the party. Here at Hog roast Alston, we pride ourselves on flexibility when it comes to inside and outside events, we also always offer the cleaning up service to relieve any stress from customers.
