Hog Roast Balderstone – Engagement Event!

Hog Roast Balderstone were delighted to be asked to cater at a secret engagement party for Alan and Sue who both have significant learning challenges and are extremely energetic and love to boogie!  We were approached by the bride-to-be’s Mum (Dawn) who wanted something special yet affordable for their indoor event and we explained that we have six menus for this type of event.  After careful discussion with Dawn, we reached the conclusion that the Southern Slow Roast Menu was that most suitable for the 90 guests that were likely to be there; this ensured a wide variety of food including roasted meats, delicious salads, different rolls and new potatoes to cater for a range of tastes and ages that would be there.

Once we arrived, the weather was atrocious and, although Hog Roast Balderstone can readily cater for outdoor events and have sturdy canopies to keep our food dry, we were glad to be indoors!  We met Dawn who wanted us to be as discreet as possible as it was still a surprise for Alan and Sue and we had a quick discussion with the DJ to determine the best place to setup; the event was held in a local community centre so space was a premium and we agreed that once the dancing was to start, we would quickly pack away as quietly as possible.

Well, what an evening for Dawn, Alan, Sue and Hog Roast Balderstone!  Once Alan and Sue discovered what was planned, they were thrilled to bits and couldn’t wait for us to start serving and to start eating the fabulous food that we had to offer. Dawn invited all of the guests to start to queue up and we soon had plenty of mouths to feed, young and older alike and with all of them amazed at the variety and the quality of the food that we had to offer.  Once we had finished, we quickly packed up so that the dancing could begin but before we slipped away, Alan, Sue and Dawn came up to us and gave us all a big hug to say thank you!
