It is on a totally different level to a more traditional indoor party in many ways, but it also comes with certain issues that you wouldn’t necessarily need to be concerned about if you were doing it indoors. In our capacity as experienced outdoor event caterers, we would like to give you a quick overview of the pros and cons of putting on an outdoor event, and how we can help make sure everything runs smoothly if we are catering for your event.

The pros

You are free from the confines of a formal function room or more conventional venue. You can let your imagination run wild with the theme and the décor, and you can choose a setting that has a great view or a place that has a special meaning to you. Having an outdoor party also creates a unique kind of ambiance and it can be a fantastic social experience at any time of year, from sunny summer festivals to Christmas community events. Outdoor gatherings also work really well for events of all sizes, ranging from a garden party to a large-scale public event.

The cons

Whilst you are free from the restrictions associated with indoor venues, you will also be lacking the convenience and facilities, including kitchen amenities. It can make catering more challenging, especially if you don’t have any mains power or a designated food prep area. You are also at the mercy of the weather unless you have hired a tepee or marquee.

We are totally self-sufficient and can cater for a large crowd in the middle of a field without needing any onsite facilities. We can also bring along our own catering gazebo if you are concerned about the weather and if the heavens open, we can easily move out mobile machines to a more sheltered spot for food service.
