Hog Roast Grimsargh Celebrated Doctor Who Day!

On the 23rd of November, Whovians (that’s Doctor Who fans to those of you who aren’t in the know) marked 54 years since the popular sci-fi series first began, and wanting to celebrate the anniversary in a big way, Christopher (yes – just like the ninth Doctor, himself!) had organised a party for all his fellow Time Lords and Ladies to attend!

He had arranged for the event to take place in the function hall of a local hotel, allowing guests to travel from further afield and spend the night if they wanted to. This ramped up the interest in the celebration considerably, and in the end, Christopher received attendance confirmations from over 150 people. Quickly realising he had a lot to juggle, Christopher then reached out to Hog Roast Grimsargh and asked us to take care of the catering for him, which, of course, we eagerly agreed to do.

Our catering manager, Sam, worked closely with the client to come up with the best dining solution to suit everyone’s needs, which resulted in an almost entirely bespoke spread. Christopher was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of our services and was even more impressed by the ease of placing a booking and the professionalism of our staff, which filled him with encouragement that his event would run smoothly – and, of course, he was right!

Impressing clients (and their guests) is really important to everyone here at Hog Roast Grimsargh, and our team goes to great lengths to make sure that our customers are always happy.

Hog Roast GrimsarghFor Christopher’s event, the catering crew arrived early, helped set up the Doctor Who decor, and cooked a massive feast that consisted of a platter of finger sandwiches to start, a mix of canape options, a full hog roast for the main course (or BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls for veggies/vegans), side salads, homemade fries and for dessert, a rich chocolate torte with fresh cream and berries.

By the time the guests arrived later in the evening, dressed in DW themed attire, the room was filled with inflatable aliens, name cards written in Gallifreyan were positioned on each table, and the buffet was ready to tuck into! The little details really helped tie the event together, and Hog Roast Grimsargh’s impressive spread left everyone in a great mood.
