Hog Roast Ribbleton were contacted by Phil who was organising a 1970s themed 40th birthday party for his sister but wanted something a little different – rest assured that we can certainly do different! Phil indicated that there would likely be around 100 guests with a wide variety of tastes and ages with several octogenarians who may like something a little more traditional.
We discussed with Phil which menu would be the most appropriate and with six available ranging from informal “Hog in a Roll” catering to formal and extravagant sit-down options, he confirmed our suggestion that the Hog Roast Dining option would be the most suitable for eating informally but using China plates and real cutlery.
The event was held in a local sports hall and we liaised with the owner to discuss set-up time and access for loading. We arrived well before the event was due to start but the weather was atrocious and we were glad to be inside as we were sure that the guests would be also! Hog Roast Ribbleton can readily cater for outdoor events and have sturdy canopies to keep us, our food and our customers dry, but we were certainly glad to be indoors!
Once the guests started arriving we got the hog roast started so that everyone could smell the mouth-watering aromas to get the stomach juices flowing and we must say that some of the fancy dress outfits were amazing with plenty of disco divas, Starsky and Hutch lookalikes and even a very young Michael Jackson (literally… that was his name as well as his namesake!)
We started serving the delicious food with plenty of choice of meat, salads, breads and sauces and with many guests commenting on how they were amazed at the choice and the high quality of the food. At Hog Roast Ribbleton, we really do pride ourselves on the high quality produce that we serve and we know that there are many good caterers out there, but we feel that this is one element of our service that makes us not just good, but great!
