Having many years catering experience there isn’t an event we haven’t catered for. Weddings, Christening, Birthdays and Anniversaries you name it we’ve probably catered for it with Hog Roast Woodplumpton. No two events are ever the same and this weekend was no exception. We headed west to a remote little village to cater for a golden Wedding Anniversary. Upon arrival we were amazed at how lovely and quiet this village seemed and the locals were ever so friendly. When we arrived at our destination which was a huge garden the customer had already placed out their tables and covered them with a gazebo we said our hellos then it was all go, unloading our machine it took two of us to carry the huge pig and within minutes it was on the machine.

We set up a small preparation area and then began with the side dishes huge bowls of salad and coleslaws were being made all from the finest ingredients and we mixed up our special batches of dips and wonderful chutneys. We also prepared a selection of vegetable skewers using red and green peppers, mushrooms, courgettes and cherry tomatoes to be cooked just before the meat was ready. Bread rolls and buns were placed in the baskets just as we were removing the meat from the machine and the garden was now full of hungry guests!

We removed the crackling first and it had cooked to perfection crisp and golden brown, we carved the pig placed the slices onto a huge server and added it to the table as the guest helped themselves to the Hog Roast Woodplumpton food. The guests were all chatting and we could hear them saying to one another how amazing the food tasted. We sliced off the remained of the meat and placed that on the table as guests were coming back for seconds and thirds but we always bring more than enough, as this is often what happens. As we cleared away we were thanked by the lovely couple who said they had tasted this type of cooking before abroad but said it was nothing on ours, now that’s what we like to hear! On our drive back we all commented on how lovely the locals were they made is feel so welcome! Such a nice day for Hog Roast Woodplumpton.
