Log cabin holiday parks are becoming an increasing popular choice for family getaways. Holidaymakers are given a taste of the Canadian wilderness on home soil, with the added bonus of convenient facilities, and without the danger of running into any grizzly bears! The adults love the sense of tranquillity in the forest setting, whilst the kids love all of the endless places to explore and activities to keep them occupied. This is what persuaded the 35-strong Wilson family to give it a go for their annual family holiday, rather than sticking to their usual static caravan option. Since they had made the decision to upgrade on the accommodation, they also decided to upgrade on the catering for the final family meal of the holiday too, and instead of doing their usual hamburgers and hotdogs, they hired the Hog Roast Woodplumpton team to provide them with some outdoor cooking at its best!
At first the Wilsons thought it might be a bit extravagant to hire caterers to cook for them, but as hog roasting is such an economical-and not to mention-delicious-way of feeding a large family, they very quickly made their minds up when they saw Hog Roast Woodplumpton’s high quality, family -friendly and excellent value for money menus!
We arrived at the fragrant woodland setting as the family were getting ready to go for their penultimate nature walk in the forest before returning back to their rented cabins where our delicious outdoor feast would be waiting for them! Our catering team are so experienced that our timing is always spot on- we spend several hours slowly roasting the meat and freshly preparing all of the side dishes on-site and always manage to serve up exactly when you want us to! On this occasion, the Wilsons’ final family feast of traditional hog roast, creamy coleslaw, crispy potatoes wedges and side salads needed to be ready for them to dig into as soon as they returned from their walk, after the spending a day in the fresh air working up an appetite.
True to our word, Hog Roast Woodplumpton delivered right on cue as the wanderers returned from the woodland walk, and all 3 generations of the family tucked in with equal enthusiasm! From the age of 7 to 65, every member of the family loved the meat and our salads were so colourful and inviting, even the kids scoffed the lot!
