Hog Roast Walton-le-Dale recently catered an engagement party for Danielle and Bryan, who asked us to provide the food for fifty guests in the grounds of a local hotel. We would be preparing and cooking a traditional hog roast inside a large marquee and then serving pigs in buns to the couple and their family and friends. You might know them as hog roast rolls, but either way, these succulent pieces of heaven are our speciality dish – after all, they’re part of our name!

To create pigs in buns, we lovingly prepare the high-quality, locally-sourced meat at your venue, hours before service, and cook for hours on end until we get a golden outer, full of salty crackling, and a moist inner, with mouth-watering pork that melts in the mouth. We cram bits of both into floury bread rolls and wraps and add our homemade apple sauce and own-recipe sage and onion stuffing, then hand over to you and your guests to add your choice of condiments if preferred. They are loved by many and once you’ve had a bite, you’ll certainly be back for seconds. 

On the day of the engagement party, our Hog Roast Walton-le-Dale team arrived on-site five hours before the teatime service, set up our equipment and prepared the meat, and before long, it was sizzling in its own juices.

By 5pm, we were ready to serve and Danielle, Bryan and their guests couldn’t wait to tuck in.
