When Gary and Fiona called us to book their wedding reception a few months ago, they were concerned about their budget and what they could get for their money. They assumed that a fancy hog roast Barton would be just that – only for fancy events – as they had yet to experience one. We calmed their fears and told them all about our different menu options to suit different purses, and the fact that a hog roast Barton nowadays is suitable for any kind of occasion and achievable for anyone’s budget.

By the end of the phone call, Gary and Fiona had booked us for their wedding day for a hog roast Barton winter warmer, which is a wonderfully succulent pig centrepiece and roasted seasonal vegetables. An autumn or winter wedding can be chilly or even freezing cold, but this type of food warms you from your head to your toes. As well as our winter warmer menu, we just needed to add roasted vegetables and garlic and rosemary new potatoes to the main course, as the couple would be providing a starter themselves and dessert would be their own wedding cake.

On the day of the wedding, we had a lovely time catering for lots of happy guests. When we served the main course, the queues didn’t seem to let up, but that’s because once the people at the front had enjoyed their meat, they returned to the back of the queue to get seconds or more! The biggest compliment of the day was seeing this large hog stripped completely clean, as no one could resist the taste.
