Hog Roast Longridge is often asked to cater birthday parties, as well as many other different events, and sometimes that might be a themed party, either for kids or adults. In terms of the food that we provide, it’s not just about our sumptuous hog roasts here at Hog Roast Longridge, even though we have perfected them over many years so they are just as tasty as everyone says. Nevertheless, we know that our customers need plenty of choice and variety offered to them so that they can ensure all of their guests can enjoy our food, and that’s why we’ve always had various menus to peruse, which include canapés, multiple courses and hot and cold sides. Our menus don’t only offer meaty alternatives – you’ll find many alternatives that will satisfy bigger appetites, various special diets and a variety of personal tastes too.
When Ted asked Hog Roast Longridge to cater a themed birthday party for his teenage daughter, he wanted to include a traditional hog roast cooked by yours truly in order for us to make pigs of buns for the main course, but he also needed some additional dishes served. With vegetarian guests invited, we would make our veggie skewers to be served at the same time as our scrumptious pigs in buns, and three side salads and our spicy sweet potato wedges could be enjoyed by both the carnivores and vegetarians.
On the day of the party, which was held at Ted’s family home, our team made a wonderful feast for the forty guests. It took a few hours to roast the hog to absolute perfection, which we did as the gardens were transformed into an Alice in Wonderland fairy tale. Later on in the day, we set the wedges cooking, freshly prepared avocado and cherry tomato, couscous and pasta salads and grilled our veggie skewers and then finally, once the hog was browned on the outside and tender on the inside, it was time to serve.
